I have a similar problem. Yesterday morning my top stopped near the end of the raising cycle, the back hadn't yet latched. I was able to pull the top forward enough to latch it. I got the "check soft top" on the SID. The remote trunk opener won't work, as well as the trunk button on the key fob.
Unfortunately none of the suggestions here have helped. I tried driving around for awhile in case my battery wasn't completely charged, toggling the roof switch, fuses, etc. I grudgingly took it into the dealer this morning. The tech read the codes but wasn't able to reset them. He got the top to lock down by controlling it with his computer, but nothing else. The service manager says the codes are inconclusive and it will probably require several hours of exploratory work. At $85/hour, that isn't appealing. He thinks it may be "the module", that it isn't communicating with the sensors properly.
Even after the dealer closed the top, I keep getting "check soft top" whenever starting from a stop. I'm thinking it is a sensor. Also, if I try the toggle when the front is still latched, I get "check soft top lattches" leading me to think that at least some of the sensors are communicating with the module.
1. What is this "module"? The service manager couldn't really explain it.
2. I too would like to know what these codes mean: B1865, B2036
Thanks!!!
