Stalling in several situations

Hello all, it's been a while since I've needed to post. The car I am having toruble with today is my 1997 900SE Auto. Here is the deal.
What it is cold and the car hasn't moved in a while, I back out of the driveway, come to a stop, put the car in drive and it stalls, or on a good day, almost stalls. Once the car warms up, or even after I park at work all day it's fine.
Also, any time I have to break real hard or come to a short stop, the same thing happens. The bast way I can describe the feeling is coming to a stop and not depressing the clutch, but this car has an auto tranny.
I read an earlier post about flushing the tranny and that was a good idea because the oil was a litle low and dirty. I don't know if it solved the probelm because it's warm today and coulden't drive it far to really test it.
What else should I bee looking at? Here are my thoguhts in no particular order... ignition switch, vac lines, aic (I don't know where this is), neutral switch.
Any other thoughts or people who have had the same issue?
