I think the ng900's are harder to wrench on than the og900s, (can't speak for the 9k) mostly b/c the hood isn't a clamshell, and it's a lot harder to get into nooks and crannies. Also, the engine bay just has more stuff in it. And there are a lot more electronics. I haven't found the transverse mounting to be much of a problem.
