You may be right, it may have been still leaking residual fluid trappped in the threaded area of the resevoir cap. About an hour ago I did a more thorough job of wiping off resevoir and master cylinder. I washed off the master cylinder area with soapy water and let it dry and also removed the resevoir cap and wiped the threaded area, sensor and the resevoir itself totally dry. Now the exterior area is completely dry, the fluid level is 1/2 way between minimum and maximum, if there is a leak I should be able to tell where it's coming from if not the resevoir cap. I'll keep an eye on it. Thanks
