'95 900 N/A - I was idling at an intersection about a week ago and the car just stopped and has refused to start again. In the subsequent week I have determined that the fuel pump is running and i get enough pressure to spray gasoline in my face when i loosened the fuel lines on the fuel filter. Dont have a way to actually check the pressure but it seems to be good.
I'm getting a strong spark but have replaced the ignition wires and plugs anyway as they both needed it. Have cleaned and inspected both IAC and throttle body and have also checked all vaccum lines.
If I put some gasoline directly into the throttle body the car will start right up but other than that it will just crank and never even begin to fire.
From reading the posts it sounds like it could be the CPS but all the other posts seem to indicate that the CPS causes intermitent starting problems as opposed to killing the engine dead while it was running and never letting it start again. Has anyone heard of a CPS going out and stopping everything?
Also, regarding the CPS, post on this board say that it should have 800 ohms of resistance but my Haynes manual says it should be 540, which is what my sensor reads. Can anyone clear this up for me?
Finally, what else should i check if anything or should i just replace the CPS and see what happens? Thanks in advance for any help anyone can offer.
