Diagnosing oil leak in '00 9-3SE

I have a '00 9-3SE with 42k miles and an oil leak.
I found oil on the bottom of the engine when I did an oil change a couple of days ago. There is no sign of oil on the driveway so the leak is either very new or quite slow.
I can see where oil is leaking at the right rear top of the valve cover where a hose runs in just behind the embossed 'SAAB' lettering. The leak appears to be around the connector on the valve cover side and perhaps through the middle of the connector as well (it appears to be two pieces snapped together). This hose is delivering oil up into the cylinder head, correct? The hose itself seems in good shape, at least at the top end; it is pliable with no signs of wear.
It seems likely to me that the connector between the hose & valve cover is the problem. Are there other potential cuplrits that I should look for? Is replacing this connector something that I can undertake? (I have a reasonable set of basic tools and no problem changing oil and filters, sparkplugs, etc., swapped an engine between a 1980 900 and a 1979 99 once upon a time).
Thanks so much for any advice!
