Update on strange highway mpg I had posted about

Short version; My rear shocks were adjusted stiff and pumping the rear of the car down increasing drag.
Long Version;
I had posted about my mpg going way down while at highway speeds. I got some good input but it looks like I was right. Since I have the KYB GR2 struts in the front and the Koni sport adjustable shocks in the rear, the rear would pump itself down while on a bumpy highway. I adjusted the rear Konis to basically "soft" and my gas mileage got up to about 29mpg consistently on the highway after that. My theory on this is that when the rear was lower, there was much more wind drag which increases at speed. I might be wrong but I think that the drag from the wind is 'n' squared where n is the speed.
Since the rear dampers are only $31 apiece and easy to install, I will probably get some this year. I really wanted to keep the rear Konis for the adjustability but it's probably better to have a matching set all around.
I had replaced my front Konis because they were leaking pretty badly and I was already changing my B&G springs out back to stock. The B&G springs had gone bad.
ps. With the stock springs, the KYB GR2 aren't too shabby. It's a nice mix of handling and comfort but as soon as I push it, I am reminded that I am not on the sport springs and dampers anymore. Also, the KYB and stock spring combo is actually bumpier over small bumps whereas the progressive B&G and Koni combo was smooth over small bumps. Likewise, the B&G and Koni combo was stiffer over big bumps which should be expected.
