It was originally leased, turned in, then this dealer bought it at a "factory" auction to offer it for sale. Most Saabs that are leased go this same route. Those factory wholesalers operate in the same way - the dealers are only allowed to inspect the cars and have a mechanic look at ehm in many cases - driving them is not allowed.
The "NJ auction" appears to just be a different flavor of retail dealer using the wholesale model. I would not buy a care like this unless there were some protection under state laws if it turns out to be junk. You might be getting a deal, you might be getting a dumper, who knows ? But, for a couple thousand off retail, maybe you want to take a risk.
