This would not be the first T7 replacement DIC that was bad if it turned out to be that, but very rare. See if you can try another DI for a bit.
I would pull the plugs myself and read them, check gaps and note any cylinder to cylinder variations in color etc. Blow or vacuum around plugs before removal as sand and dirt can be in around the plug bases.
Check that DI connector is seated OK.
The T7 is sensitive to any air entry between the MAF and the head. So checking the VAC lines is important. Leaks between the MAF and top of the TB are not as critical as they would have to be quite significant for the very low pressure differences to create large enough leak volumes to be a problem. So anything that goes to vacuum ports (below the throttle plate) are needing to be examined. A leak in the VAC line to the MAF would be serious and would cause rich running at idle and the plugs would get black while idling. But then everything would really be a mess and more than what you have described.
The T5 is totally different and it can start and idle OK with the TB delivery pipe removed. The T5 is very vulnerable to leaks in the VAC lines to the MAF and FPR.
