Tonneau prob - not the normal...

I've got a problem with my tonneau cover, and it's not the normal ones like others have...
A week or so ago, everything was fine, except the tonneau wouldn't open the last 1/2 to 1 inch, and the first bow would hit it retracting and closing. A simple little assist for the last inch would fix everything. The other problem was when the tonneau would go back down, it would let go on the last 5 or six inches and slam shut.
Today, I go to put the top down, and the tonneau doesn't go anywhere! The motors whirr away, but no open - no gear ratcheting either. I can open the tonneau by manually, but then it won't go down either - I have to do it manually.
Before anyone says bracket kit - I had that done last March at ScanWest...
The original symptoms sound like the shear pin problem, but now this no open or close thing...HELP!?!?
TIA!
Ted
