Advice on smokey exhaust

Hi, I have some issues with my 97 900set w/188k. There is smoke coming out of my exhaust. I can't really tell if it's white or blue. i know it should be fairly obvious and I'm not color blind but.. I got some tips on what to check out from some members and i did some searches and from whAT i gathered it could either be oil or coolant leaking into somewhere it shouldn't
Here's what I can tell you, I checked the coolant resevior for milkyness and it looks clean and clear blue, the whole rez is actually pretty clean without much oil or dirt on the outside or inside.
I checked the dipstick for signs of coolant but no whiteish signs there either. The oil looked pretty used even though i'm only 3k into my supposed 5k oil change interval, and the oil came about a third of the way up the squre part of the dipstick.
i think my head gasket may slowly be leaking at the front corners on either side of the exhaust manifold. There is black crud caking up around the bolts and what not.
The intake side of the turbo where the pipe from the airbox omes in also has black crud caking around it.
I know enough that this isn't good but what i want to know is my saab going to explode? Is she still drivable, if i get an oil change, and keep my eye on the level? Or am i causing serious damage to my engine?
