my 2002 9-3 has just under 50K miles, but the warranty period ended in march. battery was replaced in december, DI replaced under recall (although it failed and had to be towed in) in march. now the car cranks for almost 10 seconds (on cold starts) before stumbling and lazily turning over. it's probably like 55 degrees here in the mornings now, so it's odd to me that it's having such a tough time in the spring but was fine all winter. i'm taking it in to the dealer for an oil change tomorrow, but was wondering if anyone has any thoughts on what I can expect to hear -- something that needs to be cleaned (throttle body)? only modification is a K&N filter. always use premium fuel.

long shot, but could this be a symptom of damage that had been done by the DI failing while I was driving the car? on the [really rude] AAA guy's insistance, I tried to start the car several times after it failed and while I was waiting for the tow truck, even though I was really confident that it was a failed DI. would that have hurt the car? it just cranked for 5 seconds or so, similar to its current morning routine, but of course it never turned over when the DI was dead.

anyway, let me know if you've had a similar problem and what it turned out to be... new tires? just kidding, but they'll probably try to sell me some at the dealer.
