Working only on the fan-side connectors, when I bridge any of the wires to another my DVM reading goes from "1" to "000" (DVM set to 200k Ù). Green to black, white to black, white to green, they all go to "000". This means what? That I have no resistance to my resistor, right? If I understand the way this works (& there's a really good possibility that I don't!), then the more the resistor heats up (corresponding with the hotter the engine gets), the less resistance I should have & the faster the fan should go. With no resistance, I should either have the fan on high all the time or have a burned out fan motor & no fan ever. (I thought it was still working on high, but maybe I'm mistaken.)

I replaced the Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor last summer. Does that control anything on the fan's operation? Also, does it make sense to replace this with a used resistor? (Gary, how long has your used part been installed?) I'd rather install a new resistor & not worry about it for another six or seven years than install a used part that might go bad in six or seven months.

I guess my next step is to verify that the fan does indeed work on high. If the motor's burned out, then I'm looking at a new fan assembly anyway...
