I posted this question last week but did not get a response, so I am hoping it just got lost in the shuffle over the holiday weekend. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thank you.

By way of background, a couple months ago my Check Gear Box light kept coming on and the indie I use replaced the Neutral Position Switch. I haven't driven the car much since then, maybe a couple hundred miles, and recently the light started coming on again intermittently. Each time it came on I restarted the car and the light was gone. Last week though, the light came on again but this time it wouldn't go away and the car seemed stuck in a low gear, something the indie is calling "limp mode." The car could not be driven safely, as it would not accelerate at all. At the indie's suggestion over the phone, I disconnected the battery for a few minutes and the light was gone when I restarted the car. I drove to the indie this morning without the light on and without any other problems. The indie just called to tell me that now the light keeps coming on again, the Check Engine Light is also coming on and no fault codes are showing up for either of them. The car is stuck in "limp mode" and he is keeping it in his shop over the long weekend to take another crack at it next week. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what might be going on (besides, perhaps, that the indie waited until too late in the day to look at the problem....)? Thanks in advance, and have a good holiday weekend.
