Is there another controller?

How long before you get your new fan installed? And did you find any source other than OE (ie, less than $400)?
All of my wiring is fine & the car has 72k+ miles on it. I do have at least one speed, but I don't know which one. I also suspect my low speed is out, but I think the 9000 (the first model with a resistored two-speed fan?) had a separate fan controller on the radiator block. Obviously, I'd rather replace an $80 controller than a $400 fan assembly.
Thanks to everyone for their response!
