I do indeed have two sets of tweeters up front. I had just the mids and the tweeters in the doors for a while, but the music was too low. The upstage kit makes all the difference. It includes a crossover that blends the sound so that you do not get overpowering highs. Now the music sounds like it is coming from the front of the car and the soundstage is up where it should be. The 6.5" are strong, my crossover is set at 120 Hz, so they provide good midbass.
I did a search on this board to find the cd changer model number and other advice.
There are two reasons I would consider changing out the head unit:
1. Ipod interface.
2. Volume control. The stock head unit will send a clipped signal above a certain level, and you are left guessing where that level is. Check out the forums on Sounddomain.com. Lots of good info there.
