It PROBABLY isn't a 'battery' issue as your other lights go on. I assume you mean like when you just have the key in run before you turn it all the way to start?
If it was a complet power issue, your dash and light should go out too. It seems to be some kind of ignition or ignition related issue.
Have you tried checking the obd for any error codes that might be generated? It sounds like your ignition is intermittently cutting out for whatever reason. The old Saabs used to use an ignition amplifier that amplified the signal from the ignition system before sending it to the ecu. It looked like a little relay. Sometimes it would become faulty and screw up the signal intermittently and cause the exact same symptoms. The problem is I don't think ANYBOBY uses that system anymore (this was in the 80s). But it still does sound ignition related - or some fault that's causing your ignition to "time-out" like an intermittently faulty crankshaft position sensor (a completely bad sensor would cause a no start), etc.
