Hi Jeff,
I did the same thing this past weekend, and it worked just as CGrider said.
- Remove the relay, and gently pop of the orange cover with a pair of jeweler's screw drivers and you will see how the circuit board is vertically attached to the plastic plate with the pins.
- Look at the back side of the circuit board and you will see six or seven (can't remember exactly) solder joints, many with hairline cracks. I had large cracks, as I first lost both high beams. Then, I lost low beams as well.
- I first tried to just heat up the joints with the iron as others have suggested to reuse the original solder, but found that I needed to add a small amount of solder to the distressed joints.
FWIW, I sure make ugly but effective joints!
