Hello folks -- I'm hoping someone here can help me out. My g/f's 97 900S (na 2.3L) threw a code for bank 1 sensor 1, and I found a generic Bosch sensor on eBay to try installing. The Bosch unit that came out had two white, a black, and a grey lead. The new sensor had the same, but no install directions. I was concerned that the two white wires might get "crossed" on install, to I was careful to not the routing on the old sensor and imitated it in the installation of the new sensor.
All was well upon install UNTIL... the CEL was reset by the fellows at AdvanceAuto, and upon leaving their lot, the car began to really bog at stops. It had done this before, but never to this extent. It would all but stall out before suring back to normal idle. By the time I got home (about a mile) the check gearbox light ALSO came on and the transmission (automatic) went into limp mode. I pulled in the drive and unhooked the battery. Let it sit for a while, and upon re-start it was better with no codes. Ran great with no codes 'til today, and now I have a CEL again and slight issues at idle at stops (not nearly as bad as last night's problems, however).
New codes are P0705 (Trans Range Sensor -- which searches of the archives indicate would case the idle issues, no?) and P0131 and P0137, both O2 sensors low volts. Might the new sensor simply be revealing now that the old one is also bad? Or might I have crossed the white wires after all?
Any ideas? I'm at wit's end! I need this CEL to go away so I can rest assured that the g/f will get where she needs to be going. I hate worrying about her anytime she heads out in the car!
MANY thanks for any help!
