Chain Noise Follow up -- Pics and questions!!

Thanks to all who replied earlier today. I removed my timing chain tensioner, cleaned and reinstalled, and I also removed the oil pressure relief valve to examine it for scoring.
I found that the wear mark on the chain tensioner appears that it is only out 13mm. Hard to see, since it extends to the max when you remove it. I guess I could go back and remove the spring first, but I didn't think of that at the time. I ran out of time, so I didn't pull the valve cover yet. The tensioner appeared to be out at 13mm, which is good (see pic).
There was a little scoring (not sure how much is alot...Anders???) on the oil pressure relief valve piston. (See pics).
This is where I have a question. I got everything back together and then I started the car back up and now I'm getting lifter noise (tick, tick, tick).
When I took the oil pressure relief valve off, the piston dropped into the bucket, so I was guessing on which way to put it back in. I installed it so the spring when inside the piston....is this correct or do I have it backwards??? Could also be the alignment of the scoring on the piston too?>> I'm not getting an oil pressure light (yes my oil pressure switch works)
A little help here is appreciated before I drive too much!!
