I have been smoking up the road spyhunter style. All signs point to the turbo. I called a local shop in Ann Arbor MI the specializes in Saabs. Dude says to replace will cost $700 for a new t25 plus $350 or so for install. Out A grand,Shit!
Option B. I might be able to get a new in box tdo4 from aero/viggen for like $350-$400. Friend of mine who is almost done working on his stealth turbo says he can help me/let me use his garage/tools in like a week or two when he's done. Doing a search on this board lead me to a link with all kinds of great pics and info about swaping a tdo4 into a NG900. From what i read it seems everything bolts up but the oil/coolant lines.
has anyone done this swap? Is it a hugh pain in the ass? What are the benefits or drawbacks. Do i need any other mods besides the oil/ collant lines?
My car is a 97 900SET w/188k, and she ran great until a month ago when the turbo crapped out. Also in the past week my CEL came. Checked out to be the P0130 for the 02 sensor, so I am looking to get a universal NTK 4 wire for $28 from a guy on ebay who happens to live in my town.
Any info is much appreciated, thanks in advance. Drew in Dearborn
