The viggen IC would be good. New software would not be needed with the new turbo to run properly, but without new software, a new turbo does not make more power or maybe some small gains. When increasing CFMs/boost, you also need a low restriction exhaust system. A 3" DP is not mandatory, but a stock SET exhaust is not good enough.
And for others reading this: very large gains in power and responsiveness can be had without changing/upgrading the turbo. The T25 turbo can go a long way with mods before it becomes a limiting factor.
The TBTC rework is really necessary and should be a first mod along with air box mods + K&N 33-2663 in the modified air box, or other options for that, and if the Viggen IC is not installed, the turbo compressor discharge silencer must be removed from the 2" aluminum hard pipe that runs along the bottom of the rad to the old style IC.
And with a T5, a MBC+A gets a lot of extra boost and responsiveness for very little money, unless you want to spend 1/2 of the book value of the vehicle on new software.
For any high output mods, T5 or T7, use BPCR7ES11 plugs gapped to 0.040". Do not use platinum plugs, use premium fuel, use a good xW40 oil, NOT xW30. Do not increase boost on an engine that is not in good mechanical condition. Keep injectors clean with Techron Concentrate.
With big increases in power, one really needs sticky tires to connect the torque to the pavement.
