Being a total novice at auto repair, and only something of a tinkerer, I have made my SID display FAR more pixels than it ever has before. I didn't even know that they gave AM/PM for the time, and I hadn't seen the present number for the radio since I bought the car. I used the "press firmly on the connections with a screw driver" method, and would reccommend it to others. Very easy, only took half an hour, and I feel like if I had a better fitting torque wrench, I'd be able to do it over again even quicker. Actually, after I drove it for awhile, a few of the pixels that came back darkened or blinked out, but the improvement is still amazing. Going from the time, radio station, and mileage info being totally unreadable to totally legible is a godsend. I think if it doesn't get even better on it's own when it starts to cool down, I'll go in and do it again and put a foam strip in just to be sure.
Thanks for your help, everyone!
