considering you just had the brakes done and didn't notice the sound before i would look there...are you sure you don't hear the thud when braking at all? something could be sliding around. additionally if you calipers were not 100% they can cause issues after brake changes.

c/v joints creek when turning usually at slower speeds and extreme turns. wheel bearings tend to growl or grind all the time but it is posible it is lose for some reason. don't know why they would have removed anything there to do brakes to cause that.

looking at your c/v boots will usually help diagnosis issues...there is usually only a c/v issue when boots are torn.

now inner drivers and tripod bearings (drive shaft stuff) can give you pulses often felt in steering wheels under load on long sweaping turns...but that doesn't sound like it either.

check that brake job.
