The power steering fluid was pretty much everywhere in the serpentine belt area. Radiator, sidewall towards the wheel, pump, firewall behind the serpentine belt, engine block on the serpentine belt side... The idea about the pump shaft leakage is not bad at all!!! I will check that next. Thank you!
I checked all the 5 vacuum hoses that I know of, using a vacuum pump. The one to the MAP (pressure) sensor, the one to the bypass valve, the one to the fuel pressure regulator, the one to the evap purge valve and the one to the PCV valve. Obviously the one to the PCV valve could not be tested with a vacuum pump, but I actually replaced it because it cracked when I pulled it of for inspection. The PCV valve is OK. The SAAB technician told me that he swapped the IAC valve for a known good one with no change in behavior. I am sure that it was a used one, so I try to clean that valve next. Thanks again! Marek
