Depends on what you're after.
I went from an '86 SPG to an '02 Viggen. I love my Viggen but wish I'd kept the SPG.
SPG Pros:
- unique...classic 900 body style...can't miss it!
- more DIY friendly (I've limited experience with the Viggen)
- easier access to rear seat
- more practical trunk space and rear seat fold down
- reliability (and I'm speaking from experience here RE the SPG, mine was amazing. As for the Viggen, I can only go by what I've read as I've owned mine for 6 months)
Viggen Pros:
- power
- fuel economy
- safety
- updated styling
- seats
- more luxurious
- cup holders....I'm joking! They suck!!!
If you plan to carry people in the rear seat, consider the SPG or a 5dr Viggen. Another thing to consider, if you're thinking modifications and such, you could do a lot to the SPG with the $$$ you saved.
Hope that was more helpful than confusing! Both are great cars....best of luck and let us know what you end up with.
Robert
