First, you have a lot of miles on the engine. Switching to synthetic will clean out the seals and that may not be a good thing at 124K. Second, you don't have a turbo, so you don't really need the synthetic - it's mostly for the turbocharger itself to keep it from coking up. Dino does everythig else just as well except maybe allow you to use a 0-weight in the Winter. Third, NG's didn't have sludge problems - those seem to occur on post MY99 with rare exception.
