waterpump replacement

Well let me tell you, I had to replace the O-RINGS on my water pump and what a PITA.
I have worked on a lot of cars, and the connections to the water pump have to be some of the worst designing ever. All it would have taken is a rubber hose attached to a niple, and all of the O-RINGS could have been taken out of the system. I am not sure why anyone would call for a rubber O-RING on a system that produces heat and cools. Anyone could tell you that they would get dry and crack.
Saab for being a highly designed car, FOUNDED BY AIRCRAFT ENGINEERS, sure has some of the WORST design flaws EVER. There are some aspects that have been desinged great, but others could not have been worse. I am not sure why saab when they saw a potential problem in an earlier model did not correct the mistake, rather than working around it.
All I have to say is I hope saab designs their later models with a little more real environment engineering and learns from the mistakes of previous models. But I have heard through this board there are just as many problems...
