So it sound like you talking about the electrical socket part and not the bulb. The only reason would be it hasn't been plugged in all the was. Or possible the electrical contacts of the socket are posiitioned to grasp the terminals of the bulb. It should be quick hard to get the electrical socket to push onto the bulb terminals, if its easy and takes little stress to remove by hand then inspect it even compare to the light it doesn't happen to.
I use to have trouble with the assemble I think the first time i changed the bulb I first mounted it in the assemble with the spring clip, then attached the electrical plug, It took so much force at it caused issue within the headlight assemble, disrupting its aim. Also it took a little while to learn how the spring fastened. I removed the assemble and took it all apart so I know how it worked and how fragile the assemble is mechnically. I always istall the electrical socket to the bulb before incerting and latching with spring
