Random Stalling... Still an issue Posted by Jake [Email] (#225) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Jake) on Thu, 31 Aug 2006 11:26:42 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I posted a while back with a random stalling issue in my 95 900SE Turbo with stage 4 ECU. I have since then replaced the AIC valve, the CPS, spark plugs, FPR, Fuel purge valve, and the BPC(separate issue with that). The fuel pump was replaced about 5k ago because it went bad, and there are no signs of leaks or problems with that. All of this I don't mind doing because the car has 155k miles on it, and the price of all of these parts put together is still cheaper than going to the dealer. The only thing that I have not replaced yet is the DIC, which only has about 25-30k miles on it. I have also run more than one bottle of techron concentrate through the system.
My problem is that the car is stalling at random while driving, and sometimes at idle it. I do not lose anything electrical when it stalls. I find that I have to pull over to the side of the road and wait about 10 seconds before it will start again. If I try to start it right away it will just keep cranking and the car will not start.
Just today I decided to do a compression test. My numbers are
180, 180, 174, and 180, going in order 1,2,3,4 measured in PSI. From what I have read on this site these numbers sound high. Could this explain why I have to wait about 10 seconds before it will start again? Are these numbers normal? My next step is to buy a DI cassette if all of this is normal. I'm sure it would be a good idea to keep an extra in the trunk any ways. Any idea's on all of this would be greatly apreciated.
Thanks
Jake
