I currently have a 1996 900S convertible which drives very nice but has had the infamous convertible motor failure. If and when the Saab people fix the convertible (it was fixed a year ago by the Saab dealer and failed in less than 3000 miles), I was thinking about selling it and buying C900. My concerns are that convertible motors are real vulnerability and extremely expensive to fix and there is no available manual operation (other than the emergency closure). There are other issues with the NG900 such as the clutch cable issue (it was replaced twice by the previous owner in less than 80000 miles) and he also numerous problems with the electronics.
Is the C900 convertible truly more reliable? In particular, are there any particular issues to watch out for with a c900 vert?
