After what I understand, the performance software resides in the same software package as what is messed with when updating the Trionic ECU so that's why it's not good to do a standard ECU upgrade using the Saab system since it will erase the tuning software (if? the Saab PC program will even recognize the package in there) and turn the car back to what specs it had from factory as far as HP.
A couple of performance cars that I have scanned just for fun came up with that the PC program didn't know what was in there and subsequently couldn't suggest if the car needed an update or not.
Also after what I understand, the tuning companies tries to implement the latest updates from Saab when they build their newest versions of the tuning package but you would have to ask them about that.
I really don't know much about performance and try to stay away from it due to that it takes enough time to learn and fix the cars the way they were shipped from factory.
With a performance computer in your car, you are in the hands of the tuner and how they decide to solve the different problems that can arise.
