While making a 200 mile highway trip, I noticed I was quite low on gas. I stopped to put in a few gallons. When I got back on the interstate, I had trouble getting up to ramp speed. It seemed like my turbo gauge was working, but the power was not transferring. There was a ticking or clicking noise coming from the engine area. I managed to eventually get up to about 70mph... but when I encountered traffic the car started acting erratically as I slowed. I pulled over, put it in park, and the car eventually shuddered and stalled. The car would crank, but not start thereafter.
The mechanic just called and said he was changing the plugs and battery, and he thought that would do the trick, but if not, he had to start there.
I was guessing fuel pump, fuel filter, bad gas or IDM cassette. Plugs and battery never crossed my mind.
What do you guys think?
