If the dealer serviced the tranny and overfilled, that's a)really lame for a dealer and b)a possible problem. I would expect problems with sluggish shifting, not idling, but I suppose it's possible. Not hard at all to drain fluid out and adust the level. Easier than an oil change.
How was it idling before he had the dealer look at it?
I believe an electronic control does intentionally adjust the throttle a bit in the different transmission positions. If the tranny is OK then I would clean out the IAC/AIC and make sure the throttle body looks good. There is always stuff like checking vacuum hoses, etc. (The same stuff that we posted about for your car which is back in the shop -- BTW, any updates?)
On my rig, there is definitely a few hundred RPMs difference between P, R, N, and D on the auto tranny.
