The only wiring I can think of (back there) is for ABS wheel-speed sensors. That should have nothing to do with remote unlocking.
Try pressing the key's buttons while the car is turned on. The SID display should show how many keys & remotes are authorized by your system.
The receiver antenna for the remotes is located in the console, left side, all the way back. Almost alongside that air vent for the back seats. Maybe it got un-plugged??
