Is the '95 SE manual a V6? Not sure. If so I don't think it has a DIC.
Then, if it is the V6, the valve cover gaskets are notorious leakers of oil, which then drips onto the spark plug wires and the alternator and everything else. The wires then get soaked with oil and the current to the spark plugs somehow doesn't get through. Lack of spark in that manner could explain the symptoms (same symptoms as DIC failure, I think, don't know a lot about the DIC). Lack of spark in some cylinders, so the fuel doesn't get burned, cylinder gets flooded.
Also, the alternator gets soaked with oil and fails. A lot of times a bad alternator will give the "DING DONG" from the dash and flash the lights.
Check first that your air filter is clean and not blocked, though.
Or possbily a really bad batch of gasoline, did this start right after a fill up?
Good luck,
Mike
