I wouldn't bother since the cover is worned out anyway if this is the one with balance shaft issues.
Since it is such an undertaking removing the timing cover, don't take any short cuts, you'll regret it later when you have low oil pressure.
Replace timing cover, oil pump gears and cover and the pressure valve together with timing chain and guides and disable the balance shaft system.
It might be difficult to find used parts and I know new ones are expensive but it will pay off in the long run.
If you buy a new timing cover, make sure you also buy the two blind plugs for oil pump channels. They don't come installed in the new cover.
