Plenty to think about Posted by rmgman [Email] ![]() ![]() ![]() In Reply to: Re: Need a Saab Authority-Expert to Chime In, AT, Wed, 1 Nov 2006 08:28:30 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Thank you all for responding. It looks like I have plenty to think about.
The overall opinion is that even though these are not the ideal size tires, I should still be somewhat OK. And it sounds like I should be OK even when there is not snow on the road.
I just wanteed to make sure that even though these aren't ideal that I would not do something to damage the car. I was infomed by STS about the reduction in the Speedo reading, but this is the first I'm hearing about the MPG. But, I assumed this would go down in the winter months anyway.
FYI, I paid $800 for the 4 new tires and rims. At the time, this seemed like a very fair price. If you look in the Saab accessories catalog, just the wheels alone were $250 each.
I know many people have problems with dealerships, but my relationship with JMK has been excellent and I like the people there just fine. They have always treated me with respect and given me prompt service. I purchased the car there, it was a certified pre-owned. And I am very happy with the car: my first venture into the Saab world. The few times I had to leave the 9-3 there for the day, they have always supplied me with a loaner (usually another Saab) free of charge. And the two times it stayed overnight, they even washed the car! I never experienced that when I owned (I shudder to admit) Chevys and Hondas.
