Not much difference Posted by turrbo [Email] (#8) [Profile/Gallery] (more from turrbo) on Thu, 2 Nov 2006 16:19:10 In Reply to: 96SEvs.98SE???, Wayner [Profile/Gallery] , Thu, 2 Nov 2006 12:47:21 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
We've had a '96 900SE for over 6 years and it's been great. I don't like it as much as my 9000 (build quality just isn't as good), but it's very reliable and fun to drive. Make sure you're talking about the 2.0 turbo, NOT the 2.5 V6, which I *think* was still offered in '96.
I think the only difference was bigger brakes in '98, but '96 ones are fine, and you could always upgrade them.
It goes without saying, of course, to have the car checked out before you buy it, and to read up on problem areas first.
