You can remove the wheel and check the amount of brake pad friction material and compare it to a new pad. That way you will know how far gone the brakes are.
It is not uncommon with cupped rotors since the Saab pads are very abrasive.
On your car, you can install the newer front pads from Saab that was also installed from factory on the 2005 9-5. P/N 12759808 $93.00
Those pads are made by Akebono and last longer, creates less dust and doesn't wear the rotor down as quickly.
I see front brakes being worn out between 20 to 100K miles depending on the drivers braking habits and where they live.
