I own a 02 Convertable in Colorado. We do have cold, snowy, windy days, and an occasional blizzard. A couple weeks a ago we had a blizzard that dropped 20" of snow. Had no problem with draftiness within the cabin. We have owned this car for about 1.5 years and haven't had any draftiness probles. On those cold day the cabin stays really warm. Last winter we had a week of temps that were below zero and had no problems. The material used for the top is heavy and seem to be impermeable to moisture. No wind penetration - as long as the windows seals are good. If you do go through an automatic high pressure wash, you will get some minor leaks but nothing too bad, as long as the window seals are good. Avoid the contact type automatic washes.
I have driven a lot of different convertables and I think Saab has the best convertable when it comes to weather protection.
Of course, the road noise is more considerable but you get used to it. There seems to be more flex in the frame on the cv than the non-cv 93. There is a bolt on chasis stiffiner that can help with that.
If this is going to a daily driver and if you get a lot of icy type snow - I would recommend to run snows in the winter. A quality all season tire does ok but with big hills with ice, the traction control is working overtime.
