engine can't be far behind, lol. Seriously, I would change several Achillies heel items pre-emptively because you can be sure they will fail many many miles from Saab-friendly parts and people. Or at least buy 'em and have them in the trunk....serpentine belt tensioner pulley and belt. This involves two forty dollar parts and you can also go to the short belt mod at the same time cutting pulley failure risk by 33 percent. Use link below and follow "next" arrows. I used a goodyear gatorback belt of appropriate size and am very happy. While fooling with the belts you or your mechanic can spin the alternator and AC to feel if they seem OK. I used an automotive stethescope to listen to mine as failure of any componant makes you a pedestrian. Why not change oil and trans fluid also for a little piece of mind there too. How old is the coolant, and the coolant hoses? These are hard to find on the road, easy at Eeuroparts beforehand. Distributor cap and plugs, when were they last changed? On that subject, is the alternator original? This are a real PIA job and I would think about at least an inspection of the brush rig when the car is up in the air for belt work. all NG900 alternators are buried and while the n/a 2.3 is better than the turbo, access is limited.
Good luck,
John
