Best way to Reduce the spinning of the tires is of course tires. The number one thing you can do (for the most part) in decrease lap times is get sticky tires. But with sticky tires you get to a point where they will let go, get greasy, etc and off you go into the sand, curb or whatever. Next thing you can do is to get a bigger sway bar in back (25), stiffer springs and shocks. Ever notice that when you get on it that the car will raise up in the front which inturn causes the car to squat in the rear? A stiffer rear end will help minimize the rea end squat. Ever notice why most old porsche have a front-end rake. This is not for looks, it's for weight distribution.
There is only so much one can do to these cars to handle somewhat decent. GM pretty much has stated what you can buy. I have pretty much everything you can bolt on to my 2002 viggen, except Nick's coil overs, but that is to extreme for the street and what I use my car for.
