engine turned off while driving

What damage, if any, will occur to a car (9-3, automatic) if the ignition is turned off while the car is driving at highway speed, and then restarted (while driving)?
This happened to us while driving (my wife accidently knocked the key from its "on" position to the accessory position). It was nighttime and I didn't know what happened until there was lack of power to the engine and the dashboard went dark. As soon as I said "oh oh" my wife told me what happened. I simply reached down and turned the key and everything returned to normal.
Thanks
