My 98 started similar things at about 100K. I guess it could be many things, but first is to check balance and wheel runout. Less expensive tires may also make matters worse. Surprisingly, I would also check
the rear rotors for rust- on both outside and inside. At 100K mine
were so shot that they were delaminating- I think the pad boucing off
this type of surface can really create the shakes. Then lastly, CV
joints. Hope you find this late message and a cure from someone
who is more of a mechanic than me.
