2002 saab viggen, 55,000 miles-cars runs great. Started about 3 weeks ago. Noise is only apparent when car has a load. Does not make noise when reving car in nuetral with clutch in or out. It does not coincide engine revs (sounds like it's a tad behind). It sounds to me like the turbo bearing, but I'm not sure because it's almost like a low pitch perfect whistle that gets higher in pitch with revs. This sound is only apparent when on vacumm and heading toward boost. Once on boost I can not hear it. but that may be becuase car gets louder. It also getss quieter when car is warm-almost goes away. I have had a turbo go out on my old spg, and it sounded nothing like this. I also have no smoke at all.
It's weird because it sounds like someone blowing through a device that makes a whistle-bearings sound a little raspier. Stumped!
Any clues?
