What I mean by "punt" is you don't really have to do anything, at least for now. It isn't leaking oil on the ground and it doesn't leak enough to stink, don't worry about it. Keep an eye on your oil level and you'll get a feel for how often you need to add a quart. $3 for a qt of oil every now and then is pretty darn cheap compared to the alternative the dealer presented. Be aware that a leak around the oil pressure sending unit can cause a false reading, and also that is an oil pressure point (as opposed to the valve cover gasket) and you may need to have that corrected at some point.
So two bottom lines here: One, don't worry about a little oil leak as long as you keep an eye on your oil level, and two, find yourself a trustworthy indie so that when you do need work done you don't get hosed.
Good luck!
