I have a 1995 900S Convertible, that was bought new in September of 1995. BTW only new car I ever purchased in 40 years of driving, I usually buy them 2 years old and keep for a minimum of 250,000 miles. I have all the maintenance records for the Saab, every oil change, every tranmission fluid change, every power steering flush, etc. I do most of the maintenance myself. Here are my observations on this Saab that now has about 119,000 miles on the clock: Maintenance is the key to keeping this car on the road and minimizing costs, I change oil/filter every 3,000 miles with Mobil 1 and a Saab filter; I cahnge tha manual transmission fluid every 15,000 miles with redline MTL; I flush and fill the radiator/cooling system every 24 months; I flush and fill the power steering system every 25,000 miles; I flush and fill the brake sytstem every 25,000 miles; I replace brake pads as needed, about every 50,000 miles. The only costly problem I have had is the replacement of the high pressure AC hose, I could not figure out where the leak was coming from, had to take it to my local indie, oh yes there was one other costly event; The top would not go down, apparently there was a recall on the brace for the top motor, I didn't get the recall notice for some reason, Saab participated on the cost I paid about $500 they paid about $500. I see no reaon why this car will not last 250,000+ miles. Also the car is garaged, this also helps with the maintenace and longevity. Cars sitting in the weather definitely suffer.
