You'd need new rims a half inch wider for 215 to keep from having excess width to wheel (makes for imprecise steering and flubbery cornering response)
Clearly the fenders will clear since they use 215's on 17"s, but if you're going to bother to put new rims I'd go with 225/45/16's to keep a good ride but corner better - just find out if any rims will fit since the clearances are already tight, and just putting the extra rim width on the outside will of course cause an offset problem (the centerline of the kingpin doesn't match the center of the rubber contact patch - wears bearings and tires fast)
so make sure someone who knows the application can advise first!
