200 9-3 Rotor Grooving with OEM Pads/Rotors

2000 9-3 SE, 99k. New Saab OEM front pads and rotors, original rear rotors and pads. Prior to replacing my front pads and rotors recently I noticed deep radial grooves accros the entire swept area in all four rotors front and rear. This was not caused by excessively worn pads, although they were getting a bit thin. Now after about 5k, I noticed the same type of grooving with my new front Saab OEM pads/rotors. Brakes work fine with no noise, wobble, good feel, lots of dust.
Is this grooving of the rotors normal, I do not see this on other cars but have nothing but my 94 900 SE to compare it to, and those rotors did not groove like this. Did Saab go to a more agressive pad on these later cars? Is this a problem?
